Baseball/Softball, "Hit Pit" - Indoor Batting Cages

Located in the old Exercise Room, on the back side of the building just beyond the Gym, the Westbrook Community Center's new multi-use facility will provide baseball and softball players of Westbrook the opportunity to hit, pitch and train at an extremely affordable price.

Reservations are required to be made at least 24 hours in advance; no drop-ins allowed.

Cages can be rented in 30-minute increments at the following rate:
* $15 per cage for residents/$25 per cage for non-residents

Primary hours of operation for the cages will be Monday-Thursday, 3-5 pm. Additional hours may be available by special request.

Only one reservation at a time. An additional reservation may be made at the conclusion of a current reservation.

Balls will be provided, as will a bat and helmet, if needed, but players may also bring their own, if they have them. There are NO PITCHING MACHINES. Hitters must bring someone to pitch to them. No cleats allowed; gym shoes only. See complete Rules & Regulations below. Payment must be recieved in full at time of reservation. Players must sign a liability waiver (sample below).

Private lessons, group outings and birthday parties may also be booked in the cages for very low prices! And, don't forget, our gym and/or pool may be added for an additional fee to any cage session, based on availability.

Sample Waiver of Liability and Release for Use of Hitting, Pitching & Training Facility

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS:
In consideration of being allowed to participate at the facility known as the Westbrook Community Center, I do hereby assume full responsibility for any and all damages, injuries or losses that I may sustain or incur while attending or participating in any Facility program, sport or physical activity. For allowing me to use the Facility, I agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, as follows:

1. To waive all claims that I have or may have against the Westbrook Community Center, the City of Westbrook, its members, managers, employees, agents, servants, and volunteers arising out of my use of the Facility.

2. To release Westbrook Community Center, the City of Westbrook, its members, managers, employees, agents, servants, and volunteers from all liability for any loss, damage, injury or expense that I (or my child(ren)) may suffer, arising out of my use of the Facility, from any cause whatsoever, including negligence or breach of contract on the part of the Westbrook Community Center, the City of Westbrook, its members, managers, employees, agents, servants, and volunteers in the operation, supervision, design or maintenance of the Facility.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK:
I am aware that there are certain inherent risks, dangers and hazards associated with engaging in physical activities that can result in serious personal injury or death. As such, I hereby freely agree to assume and accept any and all known and unknown risks of injury associated with any use of the Facility. I further recognize and acknowledge that the risks inherent in engaging in physical activities can be greatly reduced by seeking instruction from a trained professional, consulting with my physician, using common sense and following the Rules and Regulations of the Facility. I certify that I am in good physical condition and have no known disabilities that might be detrimental to my health or well-being.

BATTING CAGE RULES & REGULATIONS:
* First-time users must undergo a brief equipment orientation with the staff.
* Youth ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
* Adults are responsible for the actions of youth in the batting cages. Misconduct will result in immediate termination of privileges. Horse-play/fooling around will not be tolerated.
* Hitters must wear a helmet at all times while in a batting cage, unless the cage is being used for pitcher-to-catcher practice. Pitchers age 12 and under must, too.
* Hitters must provide their own pitcher. There are currently NO PITCHING MACHINES.
* Pitchers must stand behind the safety net (L-Screen) when pitching.
* Only one hitter at a time in a batting cage.
* Hitters may not swing a bat until they are inside a batting cage.
* Close-toed shoes must be worn.
* No cleats allowed.
* No food or drink allowed in the batting cage area.
* Spectators and those not participating need to wait in the hallway outside the facility.
* Once your time is up, please stop and put all balls back into the bucket.
* This is a family atmosphere; no profanity or vulgar language/gestures will be permitted.

FEE MUST BE PAID AND WAIVER FORM MUST BE SIGNED BEFORE USING BATTING CAGES – IF PARTICIPANT IS AGE 12 OR YOUNGER, A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST SIGN THE WAIVER FORM.
