Lacrosse - Youth Instructional Summer Camp
The Westbrook Community Center is excited to announce that they have added another new and exciting specialty camp to their 2012 Summer line-up!
The Westbrook Youth Lacrosse Summer Camp for boys and girls entering grades 5-8 this fall will be run by Pete Lyons, Cathy Hjort and staff and held July 23-27 at the Westbrook Community Center fields.
The camp will be "instructional" and geared towards new and less-experienced players.
Session Times:
GIRLS - 9 am-12 pm daily
BOYS - 1-4 pm daily
Each player will receive:
* 15 hours of lacrosse training
* Camp t-shirt
* Lacrosse stick
* Mouthguard
* Water bottle
* Gift bag
* Participation certificate
Camp registration is just $150 per player. The deadline to register is Friday, June 22. Don't wait, as this camp is expected to fill up fast. Open to residents of Westbrook and all surrounding communities.
No additional equipment is needed. However, girls may want to wear goggles.
Camp Director Pete Lyons has 15+ years of experience playing and coaching lacrosse at the high school, collegiate, and club levels, as well as 10+ years experience coaching youth sports. He is currently the Westbrook Middle School lacrosse coach and has served previously in the following positions:
- Assistant Lacrosse Coach, Edward Little High School
- Assistant Lacrosse Coach, Fairleigh Dickinson University
Lyons is also a member of the U.S. Lacrosse and Maine Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Hjort is a U.S. Lacrosse Level 1 certified coach and is in her second year as a coach in the Gorham Recreation Girls Lacrosse program.
