Ready Kids, School Year, 2012-2013

Our before school Ready Kids program at the Westbrook Community Center provides supervision for the children while they are waiting for school to begin through quiet activity and play.

Our after school Ready Kids program at the Westbrook Community Center is more comprehensive. We strive to offer a program that is structured, meaningful and enjoyable for children. Our activities are age appropriate and are ones that children of all skill level can participate in. Each grade has a weekly schedule which consists of daily “specials” at that particular age level. These include an art program, game club, fitness program, tutors and special guests.

General Information
  • Our before school program starts at 7:00am and the cost is $5 per morning. This program is located at the Westbrook Community Center. After school programming starts immediately at the end of the school day and is $10/day. The children are bussed to the Westbrook Community Center.
  • When a family utilizes both before and after school programming the cost is $15 a day per child.
  • At the time of registration, we require a set schedule of days your child is attending the program. We need this information for staffing and billing purposes.
  • Schedules may be changed, with a 2 week written notice using the schedule change form please contact Louise or Mary in the main office 854-0676 (please do not notify the school, we will do that). Note: After the first schedule change each additional change will be assessed a $25.00 fee.
  • Parents or guardians create an invoice for entire school year when signing up online. It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure that each month’s payment is made BEFORE the end of the month. A $30.00 fee will be charged for returned checks with insufficient funds.
  • Registering:Children can be registered through the Westbrook Community Center located at 426 Bridge Street (formerly the Wescott Junior High School).
  • Registration can occur throughout the school year if there is availability.
  • Early Release Days are included in Ready Kids registrations.
  • IMPORTANT: Please Remember that if school is delayed there is NO Before Care, and if School is let out early due to weather there is NO After Care
Before Care at Sacarrappa and Canal Schools
As of Monday, October 29, 2012, we will be offering before care at both Canal and Sacarrappa Schools. Children who currently attend those schools but go to before care at WCC will be automatically enrolled. We will no longer bus to Canal and Sac in the mornings as of 10/29. There is limited space for more children and to enroll your child, register on line and make the first month's payment directly at the office. Your child is not enrolled until you have done both steps. Children can be dropped off as early as 7:00am. We cannot accept children who are not registered in the program.
