Soccer - Westbrook Spring Recreational Soccer League
The Westbrook Community Center, in conjunction with Westbrook Soccer League and Maine Premier Soccer, is pleased to announce that registration for the 2013 Westbrook Spring Recreational Soccer League is now open to children ages 3-13 of Westbrook and all surrounding communities.
Once again, we’re thrilled to be offering a GIRLS-ONLY league for 7-10-year olds.
We’ll also be bringing back the names of today’s best-known soccer clubs right to your backyard. Children ages 3-4 will play in the MLS Division, featuring teams like the Revolution, Galaxy, and Red Bulls. The 5-6 age grouping will play in the World Cup Division, and represent top-soccer playing nations like the United States, Spain, Germany and England. Kids ages 7-10 will take part in the Champions Division, and don the full uniform – jersey, shorts and socks – of such power-house clubs as Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and AS Roma. All three age groupings will remain non-competitive and focus 100% on providing a fun, enjoyable experience for kids and their families.
The partnership with Maine Premier Soccer (MPS) was established to enhance development opportunities for soccer players and coaches of Westbrook, and to mutually-benefit the programs and goals of both organizations. In 2012, Westbrook Soccer League became an official affiliate of MPS and, as a result, now receives year-round support, resources, guidance and training from their first-rate soccer professionals. MPS is an extension of Global Premier Soccer (GPS), which has properties in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Florida, Vermont, Rhode Island and Maine. Each of their properties provides a wide range of soccer products and services including camps, clinics, club programs, tournaments and leagues. MPS will work alongside current Westbrook Soccer League staff to help grow programs and provide local children with the best-possible soccer-playing experiences.
