Better Athlete Baseball & Softball Training Program - Kids
The Better Athlete Baseball & Softball Training Program will take place this winter at the Westbrook Community Center and will utilize the facility's newly-remodeled Fitness Studio, Hit Pit Batting Cages, and Davan Indoor Swimming Pool.
The program is designed for boys and girls that will be Little League Majors-eligible this coming spring (born between 5/1/00-4/30/04) and will focus on preparing players for their respective upcoming seasons.
This newly-designed program will run for eight weeks, from Sunday, January 20, to Sunday, March 24. There will be no training on Sunday, February 17, or Sunday, February 24, due to school vacation.
In-house instructors Jeni Menendez and Chelsey Merrill will lead all fitness segments. Local baseball staff - including Ken Joyce (San Francisco Giants) and Greg Souza (WHS), will manage batting cage sessions, and certified lifeguards will be on duty during pool portions.
Training Schedule (Each Sunday of Program):
Group 1 (up to 8 players): 10-10:30am - Strength & Conditioning in Fitness Studio
Group 2 (up to 8 players): 10-10:30am - Batting Practice in The Hit Pit

***There will be no pool portion on the first day.
The registration fee is just $40 per player. Space is limited to just 16 players, so don't wait. Deadline to register is Thursday, January 17.
Pre-Registration and Advance Payment Required. To register, please visit the Westbrook Community Center main office at 426 Bridge Street or call 854-0676 to make a credit card payment.
Registered players should meet each week at the Fitness & Dance Studio in Hall "A". We will break into groups there. Please bring a pair of dry sneakers to change into, a water bottle, and a helmet and bat, should you have them.
